Rio Ferdinand has now told defender Harry Maguire to leave the club without wasting time, MySportDab reports.

The Manchester United Legend believes Coach Erik ten Hag is ‘disrespecting’ the England centre-back.

Ferdinand, who played 455 matches for the Premier League giants and won every trophy during his 12-year stint at Old Trafford.

He revealed that he would be looking to play for another club if he was Maguire.

The 44-year-old has told Maguire to try and leave during the January transfer window after Luke Shaw’s selection at centre-back over him.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ferdinand said: ‘Luke Shaw’s playing in defence over him.

‘That’s like returning from the World Cup after doing very well, everyone saying I did well, and then Patrice Evra is playing at centre-back.

‘I would want to strangle Patrice! I would’ve injured him in training to make sure he could not play my position.

‘I’d also go to the manager and say, ‘you’re disrespecting me’.

‘Harry Maguire has to leave. I think he stays because of the many competitions and they can’t sign anyone new. He plays mostly Cup matches.’

The 29-year-old produced a run of impressive performances during England’s 2022 World Cup despite his poor club form.

He was expected to revive his place at Manchester on return and battle with Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez for a place.
