Manchester United are now considering a deadline day bid for Bayern Munich midfielder Marcel Sabitzer, MySportDab reports.

However, there might not be enough time for the Red Devils to sort out the transfer.

United are keen to strengthen their midfield after Christian Eriksen’s latest injury means he will not be back anytime soon.

Now, former RB Leipzig player Sabitzer has emerged as a target to replace Eriksen.

Sabitzer has failed to break into the Bayern Munich Starting XI since he joined the club and the last game he started was in November.

Sabitzer would provide cover for Erik ten Hag’s midfield with the likes of Casemiro, Scott McTominay, Fred and Bruno Fernandes.

He has played 54 games and scored twice since his move to Bayern in 2021, struggling at the Bundesliga champions.

He started only eight Bundesliga matches last season, scoring once and providing one assist.

He developed his career at RB Leipzig and became a key player for the club between 2014 and 2021.

He played 229 matches for Leipzig, scoring 52 goals before leaving to join Bayern for £14m.

The player he would be replacing, Eriksen, picked up an ankle injury during United’s 3-1 win against Reading on Saturday.
