Marcus Rashford is still in progressive talks with Manchester United over a new contract deal, MySportDab reports.

The Red Devils are confident they can make Rashford stay at the club with the new offer.

The 25-year-old has become reborn this season under Erik ten Hag’s guidance at the club.

The academy graduate has scored 16 goals across all competitions so far this season.

Now, According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United want to reward his impressive return to form.

Having seen little progress over the past few seasons, due to issues such as injury and his personal life crisis, Rashford has become a new man for United.

There were reports that he could leave the club with only one year left on his contract.

But, Erik ten Hag wanted to introduce a salary cap to resolve issues that have affected the club in recent years on wages.

As part of the rule, the Red Devils will no longer pay players anything close to £300,000 per week to keep their wage structure in shape.

It is not clear how the new rule will affect the negotiations for a new Rashford contact, but the forward would want at least £300,000 to sign a new deal.

At the World Cup, he also made his claim in the squad as one of Gareth Southgate’s most valued England players.

Having been a doubt for England, he scored three goals as the Three Lions reached the quarter-finals.

But Paris Saint-Germain are now circulating as they plan for the future with both Neymar and Lionel Messi getting old.

MySportDab understands that agreement is not close with various issues needed to be resolve but United are confident.

Rashford’s deal was set to expire this summer but the club extended it by a further 12 months.
