Real Madrid advance into the next round of the Copa Del Ray with a 3-1 victory against Atletico Madrid, MySportDab reports.
The Los Blancos came from behind to enforce an extra time victory which gave them the much needed edge.
First Half ReportÂ
Both teams came into the match with aim of claiming an important victory which would give them a better 90 minutes of action.
Real Madrid were expectant as they move forward in numbers trying to ensure they make something happen which didn’t come for them despite the number of tries they had.
Atletico Madrid scored in the 19th minutes with a goal from Alvaro Morata which made the scoreline 0-1 from an impressive teamwork effort which led to the finishing.
Nothing else came to play as the match continued between them both for the day which saw more opportunities as they entered 40th minutes and still counting.
The first half of the match came to an end with Atletico Madrid taking a slender 0-1 advantage into the break against Real Madrid who were not good enough with their finishing.
Second Half ReportÂ
The second half had some early promising start from both teams who looked more eager and desperate to hand themselves something which didn’t as quickly as possible.
Atletico Madrid were calm and collective as the game progressed with them doing more than encounter to keep the scoreline in their favor regardless of the pressure.
Real Madrid had to make a number of changes but it still wasn’t working out in terms of them getting a leveler in the match which was slowly slipping away from them.
Rodrygo scored in the 79th minutes to level the scoreline 1-1 from a beautiful well delivered assistance for Luka Modric as the match ended for extra time next.
Extra Time ReportÂ
Stefan Savic was sent off in the 99th minutes making things worst for the visiting side as the match carried on.
Karim Benzema scored in the 104th minutes of the match making the scoreline 2-1 for side.
Vinicius Junior scored also to make it 3-1 which saw Real Madrid sealing the victory and advancing over Atletico Madrid.
