Chelsea have clashed with Champions League Rules after signing Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk, MySportDab reports.

The Blues now got to make a difficult decision because they will not be able to register all of their new signings for the Champions League, including Mykhailo Mudryk.

Mykhailo Mudryk joined the Blues in a record £88million move, signing a massive eight-and-a-half year deal.

Now the Premier League giant have been drawn into loggerheads with Champions League Rules after the signing because of the number of non-homegrown players in the squad.

With the signing of Mykhailo Mudryk, the Blues may have more non-homegrown players that is being permitted in their Champions League squad.

According to Champions League Rules, clubs can register no more than 17 non-homegrown players in their Champions League squad.

Chelsea did not exhaust their Champions League slot for non-homegrown players . They were left with two more slots.

Now, they have completed five new deals so far in the January transfer window and will now have to make a difficult decision on who to include in the last two slots.

Meanwhile, out of the new signings, Mudryk, Felix, and Datro Fofana are tipped be included in the last slot, but registering all three will leave the Blues with 18 players, exceeding the required number, which is 17.

Meanwhile, the club can axe any of the non-homegrown players already registered with the likes of Ziyech, Pulisic, Kante, and Zakaria said to be at risk.

They have till February 2nd to take a decision and register the new signings in the Champions League.
