FIFA Announce World Cup Changes And New Tournaments [Full Details]

FIFA president Gianni Infantino have announce a new World Cup and club dates with new format, MySportDab reports.

He also announced some new tournaments which will be rolling out immediately in a bid to expand football both in the male and female level.

FIFA council also had some exciting announcements concerning other footballing activities which hosting countries were also confirmed.

Morocco were given the hosting rights for the upcoming FIFA World Club Cup 2022 tournament which will see Real Madrid try to the title from former winners Chelsea.

FIFA also announce two new hosting countries for the upcoming Beach soccer which were awarded to Dubai and Seychelles who will host 2023 and 2025 respectively.

The introduction of some new competitions for Women football were also announce by the body who is planning on expanding.

FIFA Women World Club Cup and FIFA Women Futsal World Cup will also commence following their respective announcement today.

The new FIFA World Club Cup for male will commence in 2025 which 32 clubs will be able to take part of the tournament which will be more of a world cup.

Here Is What Was Said:

“The new men’s Club World Cup will therefore take place in 2025 and will feature 32 teams, the best teams in the world.

“Of course, the details of that still need to be discussed and agreed, but the 32-team tournament will go ahead, making it really like a World Cup.”

FIFA announce a new World Series which will see top countries from each continent’s get to play against each other more often during the International window.

He Added:

“[The plan] is to use the March windows in the even years, the World Cup years, the Euros years and the Copa America years, and organise friendly tournaments between four teams from four different confederations.

“So that way everyone can gain this experience of playing each other, under of course, the FIFA umbrella, so the FIFA World Series type of events.”

The next FIFA World Cup is expected to carry on as they have planned which will be much bigger than Qatar 2022.
