Manchester United have now removed a massive mural of Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford today, MySportDab reports.

Cranes were used today outside Old Trafford on Wednesday to help remove the Ronaldo poster a few days after his explosive interview.

However, MySportDab understands that the poster was already planned to be removed this week, as Old Trafford would host the final of men’s and women’s Rugby League World Cup.

The giant space at Old Trafford will now feature branding ahead of that big final match, with Australia and New Zealand set to face off in the women’s final.

Pictures of the mural being removed has gained more attention from fans, who think it was done for the wrong reason.

Most believed it was due to Ronaldo’s interview with Piers Morgan that first got released on Sunday last week.

The first clips of the interview got out on Sunday night and Ronaldo accused the Red Devils of many things.

The interview went viral just hours after United defeated Fulham 2-1 in their final Premier League game before the World Cup break.

Ronaldo is now in Qatar with the Portugal Portugal squad ahead of the tournament starting on Sunday.

Manchester United issued a statement after the first clips got released.

Asked if United tried to make him leave, Ronaldo told Piers Morgan Uncensored: “Yes. Not just the coach, but other people around the club.”

Asked if they were key board members, Ronaldo added: “Yes. I felt betrayed. But, people should listen. I feel betrayed and some people didn’t want me here, same thing last year too.”
