The Les Bleus were dominant throughout the first half of the game but could not find their way through for a goal.
The goal deadlock was finally lifted in the 56th minute, with Kylian Mbappe showing his great brilliance again as he scored in style to shoot the French side to a 1-0 lead.
The PSG talisman picked his pace after receiving the ball and approached the Austrian box.
He brilliantly drove pass the Austrian defense and dribbled pass a number of confused opponents before unleashing a powerful thunderbolt into the net from 40 yards away.
It was a great and superb strike that saw the Austrian goalkeeper sprawl to the ground.
The goal was his 11th since the beginning of the 2022/23 football and was an important goal for the French team as they battled relegation from the group.
Former Chelsea star and AC Milan star Olivier Giroud scored to double the lead for the team, increasing his France tally to 49 goals.
Despite the win, they must win Denmark in Copenhagen on Sunday if they are sure of safety in the group.
