Manchester United defender Eric Bailly has now accused the club of favouring English players in the team during his time there, MySportDab reports.

The Ivory Coast International signed for Marseille on loan this summer and could return to Old Trafford for next season.

However, he has sent a clear message to Manchester United about their selection policy that he believes make coaches prioritise England players.

Bailly was frustrated over a last of playing time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick last season, and only started three Premier League matches.

MySportDab understands that he got frustrated  £80million signing Maguire got picked frequently ahead of him.

He’s now playing for Marseille in France on loan for the season, and it could be made permanent at the end of the season for £5.9m based on some conditions.

Bailly arrived back in England on Tuesday, with Marseille set to face Tottenham in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Speaking to The Times, he said: “The club should give all players an equal chance and stop favouring English players.

“They should be encouraging more competition in the dressing room. I’ve always knew that the national player was a big priority.

“That’s not possible at other big Premier League clubs. Some people play anyone because they know the manager will start them. Hopefully, Ten Hag has now shown he can change that dynamic.”

In 2021. Bailly signed a new contract at Manchester United, but started asking to leave if he won’t play more game.

He played for Erik ten Hag in pre-season this summer, but with the arrival of Lisandro Martinez and Maguire, Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof being at the club, he chances got slim.

“I met Erik Ten Hag in the dressing room last season before he signed his contract,” Bailly said.

“I was packing my things because I wanted to leave, but he wanted to give minutes to everyone and asked me to stay.

“I agreed to join the tour with United, and he kept his word, but I don’t want to play only once in a while. I want to play every week and feel like a key player.”
