The Blues desperately need to fill the vacuum as the 2022-2023 Premier League kicks off on August 5.

Meanwhile, their new owner Todd Boehly is overseeing the activities of the Blues in the transfers market.

Fans have called out on the club after a disappointing preseason campaign which saw the Blues walloped by London rivals, Arsenal.

Pundits have attributed the Blues’ poor preseason outing to a lack of crucial signings while some star players are leaving in droves.

Recall that after Roman Abramovich left his role as Chelsea owner, the sports director joined him and resigned.

Former goalkeeper Petr Cech also resigned from his position after Romelu Lukaku was sold to Inter Milan.

Todd Boehly took to the club’s website to confirm the signing of Carney Chukwuemwka from Aston Villa.

Carney Chukuemeka made 14 appearances for Aston Villa last season, but only two were Premier League starts.

The 18-year-old has reiterated his happiness about joining Chelsea, and Todd Boehly had banked on the player, saying he is one of the most talented young players in Europe.

Aston Villa has also confirmed the player’s departure as the Blues invoked him officially today.
