Chelsea have now opened talks to sign Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer, MySportDab reports.

The Blues have already signed Raheem Sterling in attack but Thomas Tuchel wants more additions before the transfer window closes.

This is due to the fact that Romelu Lukaku already left to join Inter Milan on loan until next season.

Having joined Barcelona six months ago, Aubameyang wants to stay at the club but he is willing to leave if it helps the club register their new signings.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea see Aubameyang as a potential new striker and have started talks with his representatives.

There is negotiation with Barcelona yet or plans to submit a bid for now.

However, Tuchel has a close relationship with Aubameyang from working together at Borussia Dortmund.

Chelsea could now use that to their advantage and get their man.

New Chelsea Owner Boehly will also push to get a deal done as he is eager to deliver Tuchel wants in various positions.

Boehly has struggled during the summer transfer window so far.

His progress in negotiations with clubs this summer has not been the best and the club ended up missing out on Raphinha, Kounde and others.

Chelsea have now decided to come for Aubameyang after Boehly failed to sign Robert Lewandowski.

The former Bayern Munich striker was determined to join Barcelona in a £42.5million transfer than any other club.

Aubameyang has a good record of 68 goals scored in 128 Premier League matches.

He also won the Premier League Golden Boot in the 2018-2019 season.

However, Aubameyang’s career in the Premier League did not end well as he was frozen out of the Arsenal squad by Coach Mikel Arteta.

Aubameyang did not play for Arsenal for three months after being stripped of his Arsenal captaincy before leaving in February 2022.

The 33-year-old scored 92 goals in 163 matches for Arsenal, but his disciplinary breaches did not go down well.
