Former Manchester United, Ajax and Juventus star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has renewed his AC Milan contract, MySportDab reports.

The 40-year-old Sweden international has played for top clubs in Europe before entering the twilight years of his football career.

Ibrahimovic’s contract renewal with AC Milan extends his stay with the Serie A by one more year.

His contract with AC Milan expired at the end of the 2021-22 Serie A season.

Sweden International is currently in injury with an estimated timeline of 6-7 months.

This will deprive him of playing time for most of the season as the 2022-23 Serie A season kicks off.

He has reportedly accepted a pay cut to this effect in his new contract extension deal.

Ibrahimovic was instrumental in taking AC Milan to their first Serie A title in 11 years, with City rivals Inter Milan as runners-up.

Ibrahimovic returned from injury to feature for the first time for AC Milan in a 2-0 win over Lazio.

He was on the score sheet for the Turin-based club against Lazio.

He broke a 123-year Serie A jinx by being the first non-Italian player to score a goal in the campaign at the age of  39 years

He also found the back of the net when AC Milan thumped Sassuolo 4-2.

This made him the first player in Serie A to score a goal after hitting the age of 40.

Ibrahimovic bagged a brace in AC Milan’s 7 goals thriller with Fiorentina. He scored the two goals as AC Milan lost 4-3 to Fiorentina.

The Sweden international made another landmark in the Serie A, becoming the first player to score 40 braces after the seven-goal thriller match with Fiorentina.

Throughout his professional football career, Ibrahimovic has scored 300 goals across all top Leagues in Europe.

AC Milan is currently linked to Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech for a possible deal.

Extending Ibrahimovic’s deal for one more year is a good move despite the Sweden international hitting the twilight of his career.
