Cristiano Ronaldo has now confirmed his decision about a possible return to former club Sporting Lisbon this summer, MySportDab reports.
The Portuguese has responded to an Instagram post claiming that his car was at Sporting Lisbon’s stadium today.
There has been many rumours regarding Ronaldo’s future in recent weeks.
Ronaldo has not resumed for pre-season training due to family issues.
Today, an image of what fans thought to be his car at Sporting’s stadium went viral on Instagram.
The Caption read: “Sporting with hopes in the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo. There is a picture of the Portuguese’s car in the garage of Estádio José Alvalade.”
However, Ronaldo immediately responded to the report.
He wrote on the comment section: “Fake.”
Last week, Ronaldo informed Manchester United that he wanted to leave this summer if a good offer comes in.
Ronaldo’s future still remains uncertain till now despite United already playing in pre-season.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner got linked with signing for Bayern Munich, but the German club have denied the rumours.
Meanwhile, Manchester United do not exactly what to sell Ronaldo because it would affect plans for next season.
Ronaldo leaving the Red Devils this summer would mean they need to sign another striker.
The Premier league season is due to start in August and there is not enough time to fix the issue.
