Cristiano Ronaldo has now arrived back in Manchester ahead of the new 2022-23 Premier league season, MySportDab reports.

Ronaldo is set to have some serious talks with Manchester United and Coach Erik ten Hag to make a final decision on his future.

He meet Ten Hag for the first time on Tuesday when the squad returns to training after their return from tour of Thailand and Australia.

The 37-year-old missed the first three weeks of pre-season due to a compassionate leave for a family issue.

He also told Manchester United that he wants to leave this summer.

Ten Hag spoke to Ronaldo before his arrival as new manager at Old Trafford but today will be the first time the two men meet face to face.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes has been working very hard to find him a new club.

Ronaldo’s return is a positive sign, although it’s still unclear if he will stay with United for another season or still try to be sold.

United have made it clear that Ronaldo is not for sale and is a key part of Ten Hag’s plans for next season.

The five-time Balon d’Or winner has been working on his fitness in Lisbon, but he may not resume full training back immediately.

Coach Erik ten Hag has not had much to say when asked about Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at the club.

The Ballon d’Or winner has 12 months left on his current contract although there is an option for another year.

In Australia, Ten Hag: ‘I am aware that he also has also an option for another year.

‘Yes he might stay for next season, but to be serious there is no certainty. We always need to win from the start.

‘I have a strategy, a process, but it will take some time to make us a winning team.’

Due to his desire to leave, there were only some few clubs interested in the Portuguese forward.

Chelsea, Bayern Munich and even former club Real Madrid rejected the chance to sign Ronaldo and that lead to rumours of an Atletico Madrid switch.

MySportDab understands that Ronaldo was ready to reduce his £500,000-a-week wages to seal the move but it did not materialise.
