Gareth Bale deflected goal ensured Wales booked a World Cup ticket with a 1-0 win against Ukraine, MySportDab reports.

First Half Report

The fight for the final European slot for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar kicked off with so much coming from both teams who were eager to score.

Wales were in control of their destiny as they ensured their setup was good keeping them solid at the back while Gareth Bale lead the attack going forward.

It was more of the same from Ukraine who had so much confidence coming into this one knowing how they dispatched their last opponent in the race.

The Ukrainians were unlucky as Gareth Bale’s freekick deflected off Andriy Yarmolenko from his weak attempt to clear the ball which made it 1-0.

It hit the back of the net giving the home side the advantage in the 34th minute which meant they were one leg into the World Cup group stages.

There was a call for a penalty which was revived and wasn’t given by VAR after checking the incident.

That was how the first half ended with Wales 1-0 Ukraine after 45 minutes of football played between them at Cardiff Stadium.

Second Half Report

The second half was one in which the leading side did everything possible from kickoff to the end in making sure they maintained their lead.

Ukraine was the side who were going non-stop looking for the goal which would mean them coming back, but it all failed to happen for them despite all the attempts made.

Wales was only focused on keeping things the way they looked as they approached the one-hour mark with nothing yet to happen for the Ukrainians who were desperate.

It was looking like a game that won’t end anytime soon as the away side kept creating opportunities but nothing is still to show for everything is done.

The match ended with Wales booking their first World Cup ticket in 64 years after beating Ukraine 1-0 after 90 minutes played.
