Manchester United and Chelsea will now face off in the race to sign Christopher Nkunku this summer, MySportDab reports.

The RB Leipzig player is one of the hottest prospect in European football today.

Nkunku had a fantastic season with RB Leipzig, scoring 35 goals with 20 assists in 51 games for the Bundesliga club.

His performance has now linked him with a move to clubs like PSG, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea.

In the Bundesliga last season, Nkunku scored 20 goals with 15 assists in 34 games.

He also won the Bundesliga 2021-22 player of the season award.

Nkunku scored for RB Leipzig in the German Cup final, which RB Leipzig won for the first time in the club’s history.

He helped Leipzig qualify for the group stage of the Champions League next season.

His performances at Leipzig earned him his debut for the French national team.

Nkunku played in France’s friendly matches in March and is likely to be included in the final World Cup squad.

Where Can Nkunku Play?

There is no club in Europe that won’t find a place for Nkunku right now.

In the Premier League, Chelsea are the most suitable club for him given Tuchel’s playing style.

Tuchel’s style of play has not worked with with strikers over the last two seasons at Chelsea and Romelu Lukaku is an example.

Tuchel worked with Nkunku during his time as PSG coach and the player has improved ever since.

Nkunku needs a style that suits his fast pace game and only some coaches like Jurgen Klopp can fit him in at Liverpool.

For Manchester United, he is unlikely to join the Red Devils as they failed to qualify for the Champions League.

However, PSG is one last option for the playet.

Nkunku is a PSG youth academy product, he left the French Champions three years ago in search of first team football at RB Leipzig.

The player has hinted about a move to the French capital recently.

He said: ‘Paris has always been my home, my heart is there.

‘I won’t rule out anything. Nothing is impossible in football.

‘It feels good to know that the biggest clubs in the world like me. But it’s even better because Leipzig want me to stay.’
