Ajax Coach Erik ten Hag has now revealed that he spoke to Manchester United Legend Sir Alex Ferguson, MySportDab reports.

Sir Alex Ferguson gave him a very detailed insight into life of football at Manchester United.

Ten Hag is now one of United’s preferred candidates to become the club’s next coach.

Despite no talks so far, Manchester United are confident of making an announcement before the end of the current season.

He is open to joining Manchester United at the end of the season should he be offered the job.

Should he join United, he already has a good idea of what to expect after speaking with Sir Alex Ferguson.

Speaking during an Ajax interview in 2020, Ten Hag revealed how he met Sir Alex Ferguson for the first time at Carrington.

“When we had that match against Manchester City, Steve and I visited Sir Alex Ferguson, and had coffee with him a day before the match,” Ten Hag said.

“It was a delight conversation on football.

“Sir Alex Ferguson was in his office when we arrived, he had a great overview of the pitches at Carrington and could follow the training sessions from there.”

Ten Hag has impressed the United Hierarchy his performances at Ajax.

His potential for stay at a club for so long is also another key factor as the 52-year-old has been at Ajax since 2017.

The Dutchman remains under contract at Ajax until next year, but his buy out clause is not a problem.

In recent interviews, Ten Hag has refused to give more insights on questions about his future.

While Ten Hag is a cheap option, United have not yet made a final decision.

Mauricio Pochettino remains in the race for the job as the PSG Coach could be sacked at the end of the season.
