The Greater Manchester Police have now further arrested Mason Greenwood on suspicion of threats to kill, MySportDab reports.
The Manchester United player is already accused of rape and sexual assault.
Detectives have been given more time to question the England footballer, who has now been in jail for three days since Sunday.
The 20-year-old got arrested after shocking pictures and audios went viral on social media that he attacked an 18-year-old female.
After hours of interviews, police are now questioning him on two more allegations
The Greater Manchester Police released a new statement with an update on Greenwood’s arrest.
The Statement read: ‘Detectives now have more time to question a man in his 20s, arrested on suspicion of rape and assault of a woman.
‘The suspect was brought into custody on Sunday after we became aware of images and videos posted by a woman of physical violence.
‘He is still being questioned after the magistrate authorised an extension until Wednesday.
‘From our investigation so far, he has now been further arrested on suspicion of attempts to kill.
‘We are still looking for more information and the victim has been offered specialist support.’
Following the update, Manchester United released a new statement.
It read: ‘Manchester United is absolutely against violence of any kind.
‘As previously stated, Mason Greenwood can not train, or play for the club until further notice.’
