Players have now returned to training in on Tuesday and every first-team squad member was present at Carrington this week.

Paul Pogba is the only player unable to train due to his injury recovery which would last for another two weeks.

“last week during the last training session on Thursday we had eight few players and three goalkeepers and closed the training ground for four days to stop the spread,” Rangnick said.

“And today was our third day of training this week, we trained yesterday and today.

“Now, we have 25 players, apart from Paul Pogba, he’s the only one who’s still unavailable. The development from last week is positive.

“We will train again tomorrow and the players will get a day off on Christmas Day and then we have the last training session on Sunday and will face Newcastle.

“From what I could see today in training, everyone is in good shape, all the players have had their schedule to train at home.

“So from training’s today, I can say most of them  might be available. But I have to make some difficult decisions about who will make the squad and in the starting XI.”
