Shocking! – Why Solskjaer Never Played Van De Beek At United

According to shocking reports, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team did not believe Donny van de Beek had the ‘right’ personality to deal with the pressures of playing for Manchester United.

Since his £35 million move from Ajax in 2020, the 24-year-old Dutch midfielder has endured a nightmare spell at Old Trafford.

Van de Beek has not started a single Premier League match for United this season, appearing only three times as a substitute.

On Saturday, the former Ajax star came off the bench to score in Watford’s 4-1 thrashing of 10-man United at Vicarage Road.

United announced Solskjaer’s dismissal on Sunday, with the Red Devils six points adrift of a top-four spot in the league table.

Van de Beek has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford in January, as his future at United remains uncertain.

According to The Times’ Paul Hirst, Solskjaer’s staff were unconvinced by the Dutchman’s subdued personality and were unsure he could handle playing under immense pressure.

According to reports, Van de Beek, as well as many of his United teammates, were’shocked’ by how he was treated at Old Trafford.

Last season, the Netherlands international, who has been linked with Newcastle and Everton, made 36 appearances for United across all competitions.

In an action sort of poetical, Donny Van De Beek scored the last goal of the Solskjaer era in a 4-1 thrashing at the hands Watford on Sunday.

After the dismissal of Solskjaer, United are now looking for an interim manager to take the club to the end of the season.
