A Premier League footballer and his girlfriend have been attacked by thugs at his home carrying machetes, MySportDab reports.
The player was attacked by a gang of balaclava-clad thugs who broke into his £1.5m mansion during the international break.
The footballer was dragged around his mansion by the four men.
MySportDab has now yet confirmed the name of club of the player attack.
The attack was said to have occurred when the player was watching a football match on the TV.
But, the player and his girlfriend were grabbed by the thugs, and tied up.
When they were tied up, their home was ransacked, with expensive watches and other items allegedly looted.
According to The Sun, a source said: ‘This is no doubt everyone’s worst nightmare. He was brave and tried to do something, but he was outnumbered by the Thugs.
‘The player lives a low-profile life off the pitch, so he was shocked by the attack. He does not show his wealth and enjoys simple.’
The police said: ‘There was forced entry at the property and jewellery, along with other items, were stolen. There are inquiries now ongoing.’
Staffs at the Premier League club have been shocked and distressed by the situation.
The English Premier League has not provided a comment on the situation so far.
This is the latest robbery on footballers property, as raids when they are playing matches is now a common thing today.
Many clubs have now considered offering their players bodyguards, amid increased threats from mobs.
