Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has now emerged as a shocking target for Barcelona, MySportDab reports.
Matic started in United’s 4-2 defeat against Leicester City which saw the Red Devils slip out of the top four.
He will be out of contract in June 2023.
Barcelona are said to be closing monitoring the 33-year-old.
Now, According to The Sun, Barca believe they can sign Matic from Manchester United for less than £10m.
Sergi Roberto’s contract at Barcelona will expire in the summer and Sergio Busquets’ contract the next year after.
Barca were in talks to sign Georginio Wijnaldum in the summer but the Dutchman ended up signing for Paris Saint-Germain.
Matic joined Manchester United from Chelsea in 2017 and was a key player in his first season at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho.
He continued playing regularly under new Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer back in December 2018.
However, his game time has reduced drastically with Scott McTominay, Fred and Paul Pogba all impressing on the pitch.
Speaking after United’s disappointing loss to Leicester City, Matic said: ‘We are sorry for the fans.
‘They always support us even away. They deserve far better than this.
‘We must do our best in the future to make them happy. But we are still in the title and can’t give up with 14 points so far.’
However, Barcelona are currently ninth in La Liga, with three home games in one week.
Valencia travel to the Nou Camp today, before Barcelona host Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League on Tuesday.
