UEFA have now extended Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s Champions League suspension for his red card against Young Boys, MySportDab reports.

United scored first in their Champions League opening match against BSC Young Boys thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo.

But, the match completely changed after Wan-Bissaka received a red card.

That red card means that Wan-Bissaka is suspended for United’s game today against Villarreal.

However, UEFA have now extended the ban to two matches for Wan-Bissaka.

UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body announced the decision to extend Wan-Bissaka’s suspension for two matches today.

The statement from UEFA adds that Manchester United have now informed Wan-Bissaka of the decision.

Wan-Bissaka was heavily criticised for his reckless challenge in that Young Boys match and United legend Paul Scholes said the right-back was very ‘clumsy’.

Wan-Bissaka stepped on Pereira’s ankle and that resulted in his red card.

Some Manchester United Fans are unhappy at the decision from UEFA after Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne only got a yellow card for a similar challenge against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.

Diogo Dalot will now replace Wan-Bissaka in United’s Champions League matches against Villarreal and Atalanta.

However, Leicester and Napoli have also received fines oc £17,250 and £13,000 respectively for crowd trouble during their Champions League match.
