Due to financial fair play, Barcelona were unable to extend Lionel Messi contract despite verbal agreement being reached between the player and club.

According to Fabrizio Romano, he confirmed Paris Saint Germain have already start asking about Messi’s situation.

It was reported that the French club were turned down by the forward as he only wanted to remain with Barcelona who promised a new deal.

After talks, the Laliga club reached out to the player and let him know they couldn’t extend his contract as they were blocked by Financial fair play policies.

Lionel Messi is now free on the market and could he heading to another club soon with top clubs already asking to contact his representatives.

Pictures were seen of Lionel Messi with some PSG players as they spend time together with Neymar spotted in the photo.

For now Paris Saint Germain are the leading candidate as they are pushing for a move to happen as soon as possible.

Manchester City recently signed Jack Grealish and an attempt to sign Harry Kane might automatically force them out of the race.

While Chelsea who are currently looking to sign Romelu Lukaku could be looking at not attempting as they need a striker badly.
