Manchester United are preparing a bid for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde once they sign Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, MySportDab reports.

Manchester United are still working on the deal to sign Real Madrid star Varane.

However, According to The Daily Mail, Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also wants to sign Sevilla defender Kounde.

Solskjaer has made signing defenders a key part of his plans for this summer and Kounde has been on United’s radar for some time.

Kounde was part of France’s squad that crashed out in the Last-16 at the Euros.

However, Kounde has developed as one of the best young defenders in Europe since he joined Sevilla from Bordeaux in 2019.

Some top clubs like Chelsea, Tottenham and Real Madrid have all been previously shown an interest in Kounde.

But, The Daily Mail reports that only Manchester United are ready to make an attempt to sign him this summer.

Kounde is a very versatile player because he can also play at right-back and central defence for Manchester United.

Sevilla do not want to sell Kounde, as he’s still under contract until 2024.

However, the Spanish club expect offers for the 22-year-old before transfer window closes.

Manchester United have only signed one player so far this summer, as Jadon Sancho joined from Borussia Dortmund.

The Red Devils are now working on completing the Raphael Varane deal from Real Madrid before looking at other transfer targets.
