Manchester United defender Eric Bailly is now under criticism after his poor performance for Ivory Coast at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, MySportDab reports. 

He made different mistakes in the Olympic quarter-final match against Spain as Ivory Coast lost and crashed out

In the 10 minute of the match, Bailly gave Ivory Coast a shock first half lead, and Dani Olmo later scored for Spain.

In the closing stages, Ivory Coast looked set to seal a shocking win when Max Gradel scored to give them the lead again.

Ivory Coast did not end the match there as Bailly made a shocking mistake in defence and Spain scored to make it 2-2.

Bailly only needed to clear the ball away from danger but he failed to do so despite being under no pressure.

Bailly’s mistake took the match into extra time and Ivory Coast fans could not believe it.

In extra time, Bailly made yet another shocking mistake in defence for Ivory Coast.

He conceded a penalty to Spain after touching the ball in the air from a corner in the box.

Spain forward Mikel Oyarzabal scored the penalty in the 98th minute.

Mir scored two more goals to seal the 5-2 win for Spain in the Olympics Quarter-final match against Ivory Coast.

Spain will now face Japan in Tuesday’s Olympic semi-final.
