Kevin De Bruyne has now signed a new long-term contract to remain at Manchester City, MySportDab reports.

Manchester City announced the contract after Tuesday’s Champions League Quarter-final match against Borussia Dortmund.

De Bruyne signed a new four year contract and he could now retire at Manchester City.

The Belgian scored the opening goal in Tuesday’s 2-1 Champions League win against Borussia Dortmund.

De Bruyne’s new contract is worth more than his previous wages of £300,000 per week before bonuses.

He remains one of the Premier League’s highest paid players.

‘I am happy,’ De Bruyne said.

‘Since I joined City in 2015, this has been my home. I love my family, the fans, and everything is settled here in Manchester and I have developed really well.

‘This football club will always fight for success. I have everything I need to improve my performance, so signing this contract was not hard. I am playing at my best here.

‘I and Pep see football the same way,’ he added.

‘A good relationship with a manager is very important to me because our objectives are the same.

‘My focus is on ensuring we have a successful season. Our results have been excellent so far, but we must end the season with the title we deserve.’

De Bruyne won the PFA Player of the Year Award last season after he equalled Thierry Henry’s record assists in a league season.
