An own goal from Bernd Leno ensured Everton add more pressure on Mikel Arteta’s job as they beat Arsenal 1-0 in the English Premier League, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
It was an evenly balanced first half encounter that failed to provide any goal for the two teams who were equal to the task at hand.
Everton showed quality in making sure they close up the game while making more threats than the home side who didn’t have much to do going forward.
Arsenal wasn’t that convincing as they failed to show any quality as they struggled with just one shot on target as the game progressed.
The first half of the encounter carried on without anything else which saw it finish with Arsenal 0-0 Everton as they both headed for the break with a goalless scoreline.
Second Half Report
It was a much better second half encounter in which the early stages provided some goalmouth action with both teams going close to scoring.
Arsenal had a penalty in the 52nd minute as Richarlison fouled Dani Ceballos, but after a VAR check, it was ruled out due to a foul earlier committed by the home side.
Everton finally broke the deadlock in the 76th minute after Bernd Leno sends the ball inside his net which VAR had to check for offside before awarding the goal to make it 1-0.
The game progressed with the Gunners fighting hard to make a comeback which failed on many occasions as the match entered into the last few minutes.
It finally came to an end with Arsenal 0-1 Everton as the Toffees claimed a vital win which separates them with three points from 4th placed Chelsea.
