Liverpool was able to reach an agreement for Preston North End defender Ben Davies which cost them £2 million as they look to reinforce, MySportDab reports.

The Reds were able to complete a deadline deal for the 25 year old who plays for the lower League side.

Ben Davies is set to be officially announced by Liverpool as their new addition after reaching with Preston for the player.

Jurgen Klopp confirmed on Friday that the Premier League champions would try to bring in at least one new face to the team.

And with all four of their senior centre-halves currently sidelined through injury Ben Davies was the man they signed.

Sources confirmed to MySportDab on Sunday that Liverpool have made their move, and that Sepp van den Berg, the Reds’ young Dutch defender, will move to Deepdale on loan as part of the deal.

Klopp told Sky Sports“Ben Davies, Tottenham… I have nothing to say about it.

With this line-up it’s not a problem, it’s only if something else happens.”

The defending was running on his last few months of his contract which saw his price reduced and Liverpool acted fast with offers also coming from Celtic.

Ben Davies has made more than 140 appearances at Preston, and has went out of loan spells with the likes of York, Tranmere, Southport, Newport County and Fleetwood.

He can play as a center back and also as a left back which is a good thing as the Reds have many of their defenders out injured.
