Donny Van De Beek has admitted that wants more game time at Manchester United, MySportDab reports.
The Dutch midfielder is yet to start a Premier League match this season.
United signed him from his boyhood club Ajax this summer in a £40m deal.
Van De Beek has impressed as a substitute in Champions League games.
The 23-year-old was told to be patient when speaking after he scored in Holland’s 1-1 draw against Spain on Wednesday night.
But, he also wished that Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer used him more regularly.
‘It sounds odd for me to say this, because I would have liked to play more regularly, but am happy to be in a nice team. I am simply very well and helped by everyone,’ Van de Beek said to NOS.
‘I’m a very patient person, but you go there to play as much as possible. I also think in the games that I have played, that I have come in, I have shown what i can add to the team.’
Van de Beek revealed that he has spoken with Solskjaer about his lack of playing time.
He has only played 75 minutes of Premier League so far this season.
He scored on his League debut as a substitute in United’s shocking 3-1 defeat vs Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.
In recent weeks, Solskjaer has used him for Champions League games, also in the impressive 5-0 win over RB Leipzig.
But the competition in midfield is tough at United, with Van de Beek battling players like Bruno Fernandes, Scott McTominay, Fred, Paul Pogba, and Nemanja Matic for more playing time.
‘What did he say to me? He said that I should be patient, but I should continue with what I am doing,’ Van de Beek added.
‘And that he’s seen that I always have a good impact when I come on. My time is coming. And when these opportunities come, I have to be ready.’
Van de Beek has two more international matches upcoming for the Netherlands.
However, Manchester United are in 14th in the Premier League table with 10 points from their first seven league games.
The Red Devils still have a game in hand, however, with fourth-place Southampton are on 16 points.
