France national team manager Didier Deschamps has revealed that Paul Pogba is now a shadow of himself on a football pitch, MySportDab reports.

Deschamps believes this is due to Manchester United’s struggles since the start of the new season.

It was clear that admitted the Manchester United superstar was struggling to find his best form.

The French Coach played Pogba in France’s shock 2-0 home loss against Finland to try and rebuild his confidence.

‘He’s not in the best football form, of course. I knew that before the match,’ Deschamps said.

‘This match was for him to have some rhythm. He knew that he would play for only one hour.

‘It’s hard to always be positive. Obviously, he’s not in his best form.’

Pogba was the world’s most expensive footballer in 2016 when Manchester United paid a massive £89m to Juventus.

But he has struggled to win over United fans with his poor and inconsistent form.

Right now, Pogba has lost his starting place in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first team, despite the club’s early struggles this season.

Deschamps claimed that United’s poor start to the season is key to Pogba’s decline.

‘Like all players who their club in such a situation that isn’t positive, they are impacted mentally. I know him very well and it happens some times,’ he added.

Pogba’s form has fallen dramatically that United are now ready to accept as low as £53m for the Frenchman.

Following the poor performance against Finland, Deschamps might not start Pogba in France’s Nations League match against Portugal tonight.
