Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Paul Pogba got injured in training this week, MySportDab reports.

This is why he missed the Saturday night match against West Brom.

Pogba has struggled to retain his place in Manchester United’s starting line-up this season.

He looked fine on international duty with France, and started all three matches against Finland, Portugal and Sweden.

He looked back to his best in the last two matches, playing the full 90 minutes.

Pogba also went viral for his comments during the international break.

The 27-year-old said he had “never experienced such a difficult period” in his football career.

However, Solskjaer addressed the comments on Friday, and said that Pogba was still part of his plans at Old Trafford.

“I spoke to Paul about it. Of course he’s not happy when he’s not playing regularly, and not playing well. He’s not happy with his performances,” Solskjaer said.

“He plays in the same way for France and he does for us, so that’s no new scenario.

“It’s about getting the right momentum and rhythm and, as I said before, he felt strong towards the end against Portugal and towards the end of the match with Sweden.”

But, Pogba suffered a new setback in training, which ruled him out of the match against West Brom.

Now, Solskjaer admits Pogba could also miss the Champions League match against Istanbul Basaksehir.

“He tried to finish the last training session but his ankle got worse and worse so he is unavailable,” he said.

“Hopefully he can play on Tuesday but we’ll see how he improves.”

Manchester United are desperate for more wins after a tough start to the new season.
