Chelsea could now submit a shocking bid to sign midfielder Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund, MySportDab reports.

The Blues are looking at the possibility of dropping their interest in Declan Rice and sign Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Jude Bellingham instead.

Manchester United tried to sign Bellingham this summer but he decided to move to Germany.

Bellingham is rated as one of the most fantastic young English players right now.

The 17-year-old was playing for Birmingham City in the Championship under Pep Clotet as a 16-year-old.

The club also retired his number 22 shirt when he decided to leave.

He had an offer on the table from United before moving to Dortmund.

After some months at the Signal Iduna Park, he got his first England senior side call-up.

Bellingham is just months into his Borussia Dortmund three-year contract, but there are already rumours that he could leave soon.

According to EuroSport, Chelsea are looking at him as an option for the future.

The Blues went on a spending spree last summer, and paid nearly £250million for new players.

However, they failed to sign West Ham youngster Rice after his £73m price tag was revealed.

Chelsea are tipped to return for the 21-year-old in January or next summer.

MySportDab understands that Chelsea officials like the idea of waiting for Bellingham to establish himself as a world-class player before trying to sign him.

The Blues like the fact he can play anywhere in midfield, and are planning a bid in 2022.

Declan Rice looks unlikely to leave West Ham during the middle of the season.

Chelsea officials are now contemplating if they still need to sign Rice next summer or wait for Bellingham instead.

With N’Golo Kante under contract until 2023, if he can play at the same level he currently plays at until 2022, they will not sign Rice.

Kante has attracted interest from Inter Milan, but Frank Lampard believes the midfielder is still an integral part of his plans.

Chelsea officials are also cautious because Manchester United are likely to maintain an interest in Bellingham.
