Manchester United new signing Edinson Cavani wants to restore the winning mentality at the Premier League club, MySportDab reports.

Cavani has revealed that his first mission is to help the Manchester United team win the Premier League title this season.

Cavani was signed by United as a free agent on the transfer deadline day after his exit from Paris Saint-Germain recently.

Despite having won a record 20 Premier League trophies, United have failed to progress in recent seasons.

The Red Devils have now gone seven years since their Premier League title under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Their best finish since was as runners-up under Jose Mourinho back in 2018 and this season they have started poorly with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team losing two of their first three matches.

Meanwhile, Edinson Cavani won six French league titles during his time at Paris Saint-Germain.

Speaking to United’s website, he said: ‘I think every competitive player always wants to win every possible silverware.

‘You always have to work very hard so you can give the best, and continuing performing at your best, with that you can produce the right results.

‘Then, when you start to get the right results, you can win trophies and achieve bigger things.

‘I’ve joined one of the biggest football clubs in the world and I think that our main objective, is to win trophies and be champions.

‘I think that a club like Manchester United can surely aspire, and win the title.

‘Starting with the Premier League crown, and then other trophies.

‘That’s what I want to achieve here, win trophies, win everything, and then make the same impression that I’ve always made with every club I’ve played at.’

Because he arrived in the UK from France, the 33-year-old is now training alone because of the Coronavirus quarantine rules.

The two-week quarantine means Cavani will miss Saturday’s match against Newcastle United.
