Kai Havertz has now been granted permission to leave Germany’s national camp in Stuttgart to complete his Chelsea transfer, MySportDab reports.

The midfielder will now sign his contract before his £90million transfer from Bayer Leverkusen is announced.

Havertz is now on his way to London where he will finish everything regarding the transfer and become Chelsea’s record signing.

Chelsea agreed to pay £72m upfront but the fee could rise to £90m with add-ons included in the transfer.

Kai Havertz’s transfer will surpass the £71m fee Chelsea paid in 2018 for goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Havertz was on the bench for Germany yesterday night in the 1-1 draw against Spain in the Nations League.

MySportDab understands that Chelsea reached an agreement with the German team to keep him on the bench for the match to avoid any injury.

Germany play next on Sunday against Switzerland, who lost their opening match 2-1 to Ukraine.

By then, Havertz must be confirmed as a Chelsea player already.

He could make his Chelsea debut in their Premier League match against Brighton on September 14.

Havertz could play alongside fellow compatriot Timo Werner, who scored last night for Germany.

Chelsea and Bayern Leverkusen have been in talks over his transfer since July but finally reached an agreement in August.

There are conflicting reports about if Havertz has undergone a medical with Chelsea.

According to German Newspaper Bild, Havertz’s passed his medical in London last week but The Athletic claim he is yet to do his medical.

Nonetheless, Havertz will become Chelsea’s sixth summer signing.

He will join the likes of Thiago Silva, Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Malang Sarr at Stamford Bridge.
