Borussia Dortmund Striker Erling Haaland is confident that Jadon Sancho will remain at the club for this season, MySportDab reports.
Sancho has been heavily linked with a transfer to Old Trafford since the start of the the transfer window.
But a deal has not happened due to one problem.
Manchester United are unwilling to match Dortmund’s £108m price tag for the England winger.
However, Erling Haaland has provided his opinion about the endless transfer rumours.
‘Sancho has been very good throughout the pre-season ahead of the new season,” Haaland told Viaplay Fotball.
‘He is a very important player for us this season.’
Asked about the transfer links to United, Haaland added: ‘I am involved in anything related to that.
‘The right people are in charge for that. I can’t comment on that.
‘But if Jadon stays, I will be very happy because he is a fantastic player and a good friend of mine.’
Jadon Sancho has scored 35 goals and provided 44 assists in 100 matches for Borussia Dortmund and is a key player in Coach Lucien Favre’s team.
This week, Sancho scored as Borussia Dortmund started their DFB-Pokal campaign with a 5-0 win against Duisburg.
Borussia Dortmund start the new Bundesliga season this Saturday against Borussia Monchengladbach.
Meanwhile, Erling Haaland scored 16 goals in 18 matches last season after his transfer to Dortmund.
