The Belgium international won the award ahead of Liverpool trio Sadio Mane, Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

De Bruyne enjoyed a fantastic season under Pep Guardiola as Manchester City finished second behind Liverpool.

The 29-year-old ended the Premier League season with 20 assists, which now stands with Thierry Henry’s Premier League record.

He scored 13 goals in the league also and two of his goals were nominated for the Goal of the Season award.

The other player nominated for the Player Of The Season Award include Jamie Vardy, Henderson, Sadio Mane, Alexander-Arnold, Southampton’s Danny Ings, and Burley Goalkeeper Nick Pope.

Liverpool Coach Jurgen Klopp was named the Premier League manager of the season and Alexander-Arnold was named the Young Player of the Season.

City were hoping to win the Champions League after failing in the Premier League.

However, Guardiola’s team played against Lyon in their quarter-final match on Saturday night.

But, City were shocked in Portugal, as they lost the match 3-1.

Manchester City have been knocked out of the Champions League quarter-final stage for three consecutive seasons.
