2nd Half Report
Late into the second half, Bruno Fernandes scored a late penalty to rescue a point for the Red Devils in a lively 1-1 match at Tottenham.
Paul Pogba was sent on as a substitute which marked his first appearance since January, and continued their unbeaten run in all competitions to 12 games.
Pogba added immediate quality to United’s play and it was his skill that forced Eric Dier to concede the penalty that Fernandes scored past Hugo Lloris.
Manchester United later had another penalty awarded in the closing stages when Fernandes was fouled by Dier but VAR reversed the decision.
Since last season, Manchester United have been awarded 23 penalties in the English Premier League, nine times more than any other club.
When Pogba came on, he made a difference, it was very clear, barely doing anything wrong in his 28 minutes.
He worked very hard, used the ball, changed the tempo of United’s attack at some point.
Tottenham remained eighth on 42 points while United are still fifth on 46 points, two points behind rivals Chelsea.
