Chelsea are ready to raid the German Bundesliga again with a shocking bid for Bayern Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz, MySportDab reports.
The Blues are expected to complete the £53m transfer of RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner when the transfer window opens.
Chelsea still want to sign a winger to replace Willian and Pedro who are expected to leave.
MySportDab understands that 20-year-old Havertz is the player they believe would fit perfectly, even though they face serious competition from top European clubs.
Havertz has scored five goals in four matches since the Bundesliga restart and is still being monitored by Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
Chelsea will have to spend alot of cash to win the race, with Havertz’s value around £75m and the player remains under contract till 2022.
The Blues have already spent £38m on Ajax midfielder Hakim.
But the London club want to fight for the Premier League title and challenge their rivals heavily in the summer transfer window.
Since the age of 17, Havertz has been a Bayern Leverkusen first team player and has seven caps for the Germany national team.
He has been a key player this season but missed out on Bayern Leverkusen’s last game against Bayern Munich.
Bayern Leverkusen Sporting Director Simon Rolfes said: “We are not sure what will happen to Kai.
“We know that top clubs from Germany and Europe are interested in him and because he can play in different positions.”
