Manchester City must now wait ‘until early July’ to discover their Champions League ban decision, MySportDab reports.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport appeal hearing on Manchester City’s ban was concluded on Wednesday.

Manchester City were banned from all European competitions for two years in February after UEFA confirmed that they breached Financial Fair Play rules.

After a three day court hearing conducted using video conference, the CAS panel will now discuss together and their decision is expected to be made public in July.

It means City face an anxious wait of upto five weeks before they know if they can play in next season’s Champions League or not.

However, The Ethiad club will still discover their fate in time for the next season.

The CAS also confirmed that the exact date of the decision will be announced in advance.

The decision from this appeal will have a serious importance on which club qualifies for the Champions League next season.

Manchester United are currently in fifth position on the table ahead of the Premier League expected restart.

Manchester City will still play in this season’s Champions League when it officially resumes in August.

Pep Guardiola’s team have a 2-1 lead over Real Madrid after the first leg of their last-16 match before football was suspended.

The quarter-finals of the Champions League and onward are expected to be played in Lisbon, Portugal.
