Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted it hurts to see Liverpool win the Premier League title after 30 years, MySportDab reports.

But Solksjaer believes it will be hard for Liverpool to dominate like Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United did.

However, Solskjaer also offered his congratulations to Liverpool Coach Jurgen Klopp and his players after Manchester City’s loss at Chelsea.

He said: ‘First of all, any team that wins the Premier League title deserve it and the credit. It’s a tough league to win, so well done to Klopp and his players.

‘Each time you see any club win the trophy it hurts. I think that’s the feeling with everyone associated with Man United, players, fans, we want to start winning again and that’s our main challenge.’

Manchester United went 26 years without a Premier League title before winning the title 13 times in 20 years under Sir Alex Ferguson.

However, Solskajer doesn’t believe Liverpool can dominate in the same way.

‘The titles we won under Sir Alex won’t be easy for any club to emulate,’ he added.

‘Sir Alex was a king and master of staying at the top each year.

‘Our main challenge is to ensure we don’t go another 26 years before we win the title again, we’re doing everything possible we can to shorten the gap or get past them.

‘I don’t think we’re far behind. We have to improve from our  position. One, we have to secure Champions League football, go up in the league, start the challenge, the consistency and efficiency.’

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hopes to create a new generation of success at Manchester United by winning the FA Cup this season.

The Red Devils play next against Norwich City on Saturday at Carrow Road.
