Barcelona have announced the exit of midfielder Arthur after a shocking £75m deal with Juventus before the summer transfer window, MySportDab reports.
Juventus will pay an initial fee of £66m, plus £9m in add-ons for the Brazilian, who will remain at Barca until the end of the current season.
Arthur has scored four goals and provided four assists in 28 matches for Barcelona across all competitions this season.
Juventus are looking to sign more reinforcement in midfield ahead of the summer and have now made a strong start with plans.
Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic will also join Barcelona as part of the deal at the end of the season.
A statement from Barcelona read: “FC Barcelona have reached an agreement with Juventus for the transfer of midfielder Arthur Melo. The Old Lady will pay £72m, plus 10 million euros in add-ons.
“Arthur will remain at FC Barcelona until the end of the 2019/20 season.”
Arthur signed for Barcelona from Gremio for £64m in 2018 and has since scored only four goals and provided six assists in 72 matches for the club.
According to Sky Sports, Arthur traveled to Italy on Saturday, shortly after playing as a late substitute against Celta Vigo.
The 23-year-old underwent his medical and will now return to training with Barcelona ahead of Tuesday’s match against Atletico Madrid.
