Liverpool have been crowned the 2019-20 season Premier League champions after Chelsea secured a 2-1 against Manchester City 2-1 on Thursday night, MySportDab reports.

The Reds have now won their first Premier League title in 30 years thanks to Chelsea’s win.

Manchester City visited Stamford Bridge as the reigning Champions and needed a win to prevent Liverpool from winning the league on Thursday night.

But, Christian Pulisic took advantage of a mix-up between Benjamin Mendy and Ilkay Gundogan before half-time to give Chelsea a 1-0 lead.

Kevin De Bruyne’s scored second-half free-kick to make it 1-1 which could have delayed Liverpool’s title party till next week.

But Chelsea restored their advantage after Fernandinho was sent off for handball, with Willian stepping up to score and make it 2-1 from the penalty spot.

The Blues held on for a crucial three points in their bid to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Liverpool Crowned Champions 

However, the 2-1 win for Chelsea means Liverpool are now Premier League Champions.

It is their 19th Premier League title and their first since 1990, over 30 years ago.

Liverpool have won 28 of 31 Premier League matches this season, only lost against Watford in March, and thrashed Crystal Palace 4-0 at Anfield on Wednesday night.

Liverpool are now the first Premier League club ever to win the title with six matches left to be played.

Jurgen Klopp’s men can also still break a other records before the Premier League season is over.
