Manchester City are ready to start new contract extension talks with midfielder Kevin De Bruyne at the end of the season, MySportDab reports.

This is after the Belgium international revealed he could leave Manchester City in the summer transfer window due to the Champions League Ban.

De Bruyne has been one of Pep Guardiola’s best players for years now and he is also one of the best midfielders in the world.

However, The 28-year-old’s contract is due to expire later in 2023 and City want De Bruyne to commit his future to the club.

According to The Daily Mail, Manchester City are ready to speak with De Bruyne to discuss new terms at the end of this season with improved offers.

MySportDab understands Kevin De Bruyne earns £280,000-a-week on his current contract.

City believe De Bruyne is a captain material and hope the attacking midfielder will become Captain when David Silva leaves at the end of the season.

But De Bruyne recently admitted he’s not sure about staying at the Ethiad and would consider his future if their two-year European ban remains.

Manchester City were given the two year ban for having gone against Uefa’s financial fair play regulations.

However, the Ethiad club have denied all the allegations and submitted an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
