The English Premier League, FA, EFL and FSA have now released a joint statement about when football will return, MySportDab reports.
Football was initially suspended until April 3 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
However, due to tough situations caused by the pandemic, the suspension was moved further backwards until April 30.
It is now unknown whether the season can be finished and there’s still a chance the season could be called null and void.
Football Governing bodies are still in talks with leagues, to how football will return.
And now the Premier League, FA, EFL and FSA have confirmed football will not return until it’s totally safe for everyone.
The statement read: “COVID-19 has presented a difficult time for everyone and our thoughts are with everyone directly affected by the situation. The Government’s message is now clear: remain at home, protect the NHS.
“We all can’t wait to get back to playing the game we love but we can only do that when it is safe to do so. Amid the uncertainty, fans will surely have a number of questions relating to the season and the clubs they support, and right now there are no quick answers to how and when football will return completely.
“The Football Supporters’ Association (FSA), FA, Premier League and THE EFL want to ensure that clubs and their fans have a key role in supporting the Government’s rules and ensuring community strength. Even without football, our sport can still play its part.
“Clubs and supporters have reacted perfectly with staff, fans and everyone supporting peoplr most in need in their communities.”
Should a decision be made where the Premier League season cannot be completed, another decision will need to be made on whether to give Liverpool the title.
Jurgen Klopp’s team are currently 25 points clear at the top of the league.
However, Liverpool could miss out on their first Premier League title in 30 years if the season is announced null and void.
