The Premier League have then announced that all matches will be postponed until April, in line with other leagues across Europe.

This afternoon, Arteta tweeted from his personal account and wrote: “Thanks for the support. I’m Feeling better already. We’re all facing a tough & difficult challenge.

“Everyone’s health is the only thing that matters right now. Protect each other by following the available guidelines & we’ll overcome this together.

“Well done Premier League for making the right decision.”

The deadly CoronaVirus virus has infected people in over 130 countries across the world, with over 140,000 confirmed cases.

And in a new statement, Arsenal wrote: “Our London Colney training centre has been closed after head coach Mikel Arteta received a positive COVID-19 result this evening.

“Arsenal personnel who had recent close contact with Mikel will now remain in self-isolation in line with Government health guidelines.”

MySportDab can confirm that All Premier League and English Football League matches have been postponed until April 3 as of right now.

Football in England was set to be continued after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Thursday at Downing Street that the UK government is still considering banning all sports events.

The Premier League today said in a statement: “Following a crucial Shareholders meeting today, it was decided to suspend the Premier League and plans to return on 4 April, subject to medical advice and conditions.”

The Premier League Chief Executive Richard Masters said: ‘Above everything, we wish Callum Hudson-Odoi and Mikel Arteta speedy recoveries, and everyone else affected by the virus.

“In this difficult situation, we are working closely with clubs, The FA Government and EFL and can reassure everyone the health and well-being of players, staffs and fans are our priority.’

“Despite the difficulties, it is the Premier League’s desire to reschedule the affected games, including those played by Academy teams, when it is safe to do so.

“In this tough environment, further updates will be provided when right.”
