Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has hailed team-mate Jesse Lingard as a top and big-game player due to the Englishman’s ability to score in finals, MySportDab reports.

The pair had a video chat shared on the club’s official website to rewind about their 2017 Europa League Final 2-0 win over Ajax, the club’s only recent trophy triumph.

The two players are now in isolation at their homes as the world continues to battle the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but decided to look back on their victory.

MySportDab understands Pogba gave Manchester United the lead in the final in Stockholm before Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s strike secured the win.

But substitute Lingard almost scored a third after a late Counter-attack.

27-year-old Lingard has struggled for form this season but is known for scoring on the big occasions, such as winning final goals in the Community Shield, 2016 FA Cup Final and a goal in the 2017 League Cup Final.

Speaking about Lingard, Pogba told the club’s official website: ‘He knows. He’s surely made for this. He’s always scoring the goals.

‘He’s always been scoring the goals anyway. It was a very good game for everyone.

‘We all played well and we had a very good performance.’

Jesse Lingard nearly made it four key final goals but was denied by an excellent tackle by Spurs defender Davinson Sanchez.
