Manchester United January Signing Odion Ighalo has revealed he didn’t think twice about a massive pay cut in order to complete a deadline-day move to Old Trafford, MySportDab reports.

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer demanding for a Striker, United searched everywhere for forwards to replace injured Marcus Rashford, before choosing to sign Ighalo on loan before the window shut.
Since February last year, Ighalo has played all his football in China since Leaving Watford but is now back in the Premier League with a bang and he couldn’t be more happier that it will be with the club he’s supported all his life.
Speaking in his first interview, Ighalo told the club’s official website: ‘I’m very excited. First, I want say thank God for making everything possible and it’s a dream come true for me.
‘People that know me, even in Nigeria, and even at Watford, my team-mates knew that I loved Manchester United, I support them. When I played against Man United, the emotion was there, because it is my dream.
‘It is a great reality, so I’m very delighted and looking forward to start.’
While he was earning £330,000-a-week at Shanghai Shenhua, Ighalo was very willing to take a massive financial  paycut to make his dream come true.
MySportDab can confirm that United paid the Chinese club a loan fee of £4million and are paying Ighalo £165,000-a-week until the end of the season.
‘At around 11pm in Shanghai, my agent informed me that United wanted to seal the deal, I woke up that night and started in search for a translator to go to the directors’ office and hit his door and all that.
‘I didn’t sleep all through that night, because it was going to close at 7am, Shanghai time, and the transfer window is going to close at that time.
‘So, from 11pm, there were paperwork, negotiating and all that, for the loan deal and more, so we were talking and other teams called in wanting me, but I told my agent that United is my choice.
‘He said you will get a pay-cut to join United. I said I don’t care. Make this happen. I want to join United. I don’t care how much is the pay-cut, just make it happen.’
After the paperwork was finished, excited Ighalo called his mother to tell her the good news.
‘She was very happy, crying,’ Ighalo added.
‘This is your dream come true and all that and I’m happy for you. It was very dramatic, I didn’t sleep throughout, I was very delighted that finally we got the deal done.’
The transfer will see Ighalo try and follow in the footsteps on his United heroes, Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke, who were his idols when growing up in Nigeria.
He continued: ‘When we were young in Nigeria we used to watch the Premier League on TV so many times, when Andy Cole used to play. Many People support Man United back there in Nigeria, so I developed the love, because all of my siblings are Manchester United fans.’
Confirmation of Ighalo’s shock transfer to Old Trafford sparked parties on the streets of Lagos and other parts in Nigeria, with many of his family and friends celebrating the transfer.

‘It was crazy because, the news for the last few days, is about my deal to Manchester United. Even the street I grew up from, they are celebrating, doing parties that Ighalo signed for United.
‘They sent me a video, I was very happy and laughing, because most of them are supporting Man United and some are also supporting other teams in the Premier League.
‘But they said, because of me, they are become United fans, because they have a very large fan-base in Nigeria. So I am happy about all everything and they are rooting for United from now on.’
Odion Ighalo is also already looking forward to playing alongside Anthony Martial, Marus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and his other new teammates.
