English Premier League clubs have voted to change the summer transfer window deadline date to September 1, MySportDab reports.
It represents change and return to the previous closing date after a couple of seasons where the window was closed before the league season started.
A number of Coach like Liverpool Coach Jurgen Klopp demanded the change because they believed it was an advantage for their European rivals.
A statement from the English Premier League read: “At a Shareholders’ Meeting, all Premier League clubs voted to make a change to the Summer Transfer Window closing period for the 2020/21 season.
“This change moves the closing date back to the previous point at the end of August/early September.
“The 2020 closing date will now be 17:00 BST on 1 September.
“Clubs reached this agreement after discussing the topic at at previous Shareholders’ Meetings.”
MySportDab understands the transfer window was previous brought forward to early August for the first time before the 2018/19 campaign.
It was moved because of concerns about players and teams being unsettled once the season started.
However, It did not prove to be a reliable or sensible decision.
The European leagues did not follow this change which left Premier League Coaches expressing their concerns that rivals out the country could continue chasing their players.
The 20 English Premier League clubs met at a Central London hotel on Thursday morning to make the vote.
