Barca even offered to make payments over a series years, after they paid £108m for Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid.
However, PSG would only accept a large fee up front, and also rejected a player-exchange deal.

Lastly, The 27-year-old is himself preparing a legal team to help secure his exit from PSG.
This clause is known to be under the ‘Regulations for the Statute and Transfer of FIFA’.
This means Neymar can begins negotiations with Barcelona in the summer as he is would be able ‘buy himself out’.
Article 14 of the FIFA regulations reads: ‘A contract can be terminated by either of the two parties without consequences of any kind (either payment of compensation or imposition of sporting sanctions) where there is just cause.’
